More than 7 million Somalis could be exposed to severe food insecurity by the end of the year.
The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has issued a warning on this matter in its latest report released on July 21.
As per the UNICEF report, food insecurity continues to worsen in the East African nation.
Consequently, 50 percent of the country’s population, which translates to 7.1 million individuals, could have to grapple with severe food insecurity.
Worse, UNICEF believes that 1.5 million Somali children under the age of 5 could be malnourished.
