The First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives led a delegation of parliamentarians from Somaliland to visit Uganda on Friday, October 23.
Reports from the House of Representatives indicate that the parliamentarians are scheduled to visit Uganda for the next eight days.
First Deputy Speaker Yasin Ali Ayanle leads a delegation that includes Ahmed Abdi Kijandhe, the Chairperson of the Foreign Relations Committee.
Others include Mohamed Yusuf Wabeye, the Chairperson of the Environment Committee, and Abdiasis Ismail Du’ale, the Deputy Chairperson of the Foreign Relations Committee.
Abdirisak Said Ayanle, the Secretary of the House of Representatives, is part of the team too.
The legislators are scheduled to take part in the launching ceremony for Atiak Sugar Factory, which is owned by Amina Hersi Moghe, a prominent Somali entrepreneur in Uganda.
While in the country, Somaliland’s parliamentarians will hold meetings with their Ugandan counterparts.
