A peace committee has been established in the regional state of Galmudug to stop interclan clashes.
Regional President Ahmed Abdi Karie Qoorqoor appointed the 5-member committee on Sunday.
The committee will focus much of their attention on the ongoing clan clashes in northern Galgadud.
Qoorqoor appointed officials from five different ministries to the committee.
These included the ministries of information, security, finance, religious affairs, and interior.
The goal of the committee is to bring the warring parties to the negotiation table to resolve the pressing issues among them.
