Mogadishu – The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources has announced the successful completion of Phase 1 of offshore oil exploration in Somali waters.
This milestone marks a significant step in Somalia’s quest to unlock its natural resource potential.
The ministry praised the technical teams and partners involved, noting that the exploration adhered to international safety and environmental standards.
Officials say findings from the initial phase will inform the planning of Phase 2, which is expected to include advanced seismic studies and potential exploratory drilling.
