Ambassador Gamal M. Hassan, Somalia’s Minister of Planning, Investment, and Economic Development, urged Mogadishu University to embrace more research.
The planning minister spoke when he met the top hierarchy of Mogadishu University on January 22.
During his meeting with the University’s management, Ambassador Gamal reminded them of the incredible contribution research can make towards the country’s development.
He also told them that the East African nation would be much closer to making economic recovery if top learning institutions all valued research.
Ambassador Gamal also reiterated the value of teaching university students research as a tool for building and improving capacity, especially in planning, economics, and statistics.
