Minister of Planning, Investment and Economic Development, Ambassador Gamal M. Hassan, presented the Somalia Investment Promotion Agency Bill 2020 to parliament on October 31.
Consequently, parliamentarians are to start debating the draft bill.
The draft bill, which would be discussing the framework for the creating and operating Somalia Investment Promotion Office, is to go through the first reading.
Secondly, they would also be discussing how to promote and attract investments into the East African nation.
The Bill is significant for the establishment of a federal agency that not only coordinates the activities of the promotion agency.
Ambassador Hassan has been leading efforts by the planning ministry to reform the investment climate in the country.
