PM Barre Launches Several Development Projects in SSC-Khaatumo

Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre and SSC-Khaatumo leader Abdikhadir Ahmed Aw-Ali, known as Firdhiye, have recently initiated significant development projects aimed at revitalizing the SSC (Sool, Sanaag, and Cayn) regions.

These initiatives include the construction of a new airport and the provision of electricity to 45 schools and clinics, marking a substantial investment in the region’s infrastructure and public services.

In a demonstration of commitment to national unity and reconciliation, Prime Minister Barre has emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in combating terrorism and fostering peace across Somalia.

This aligns with the broader objectives outlined in the National Transformation Plan 2025–2029, which seeks to enhance governance, security, economic development, and social services throughout the country.

The partnership between the federal government and regional leaders like Firdhiye signifies a concerted effort to address longstanding challenges in the SSC regions.

By focusing on infrastructure development and essential services, these projects aim to improve the quality of life for residents and lay the groundwork for sustained economic growth and stability.

These developments reflect a strategic approach to nation-building, emphasizing the role of inclusive governance and regional cooperation in Somalia’s ongoing journey toward peace and prosperity.
