Police Arrest Somalia Presidential Candidate in Hargeisa

An aspirant in next year’s presidential elections in Somalia has been arrested in Hargeisa, the capital city of Somaliland.

Reports indicate that he was arrested at Egal International Airport in Hargeisa on Sunday afternoon immediately he disembarked from the plane.

Mustaf Dhuhulow, a Member of Parliament in the House of Representatives, submitted his name as one of the candidates in the elections due to take place in February 2021.

Currently, he remains in custody at the airport.

Sources have confirmed to the media that authorities expect to send him back to Mogadishu on Monday, November 30.
