Police officers have arrested officers from Aden Adde International Airport over corruption.
They handed the officials over to the Office of the Attorney General.
The Attorney General then brought the airport officers before the Banadir Regional Court to answer various charges.
Some of the charges filed against them include corruption, abuse of office, and forgery.
The five officers were from different government agencies with offices at the airport.
They include the Ministry of Finance, Accountant General, Central Bank of Somalia, and the Immigration and Naturalization/Nationality Agency.
The Office of the Attorney General added that it intends to bring more culprits to book.
It stated that its officers are investigating more government officials suspected of committing wide-ranging offences.
These include falsification of government collection books, embezzlement of funds, and use of fake documents.
Those arrested on Thursday are to remain in police custody pending further investigations.
