Political parties in Somaliland have welcomed the announcement on election dates.
The National Elections Commission (NEC) announced the dates this week.
Parliamentary polls are set for December 2023.
Presidential elections would then follow a year later on November 2024.
Mahmoud Hashi Abdi, the Chairperson of the KAAH Political Association, welcomed the announcement.
He called the announcement an act of bravery by NEC.
Abdi expressed hope that the decision would deliver Somaliland from darkness.
