Pope Francis of the Catholic Church has asked the world to provide Somalia with urgent humanitarian assistance.
The head of the Catholic Church made the appeal on August 14.
“I would like to draw the attention of the global community to the serious humanitarian crisis that is taking place in Somalia and other countries in that part of the world,” the Pope said.
In his speech on Sunday, Pope Francis said that people in the Horn of Africa are exposed to mortal danger from the ongoing drought.
