The Port of Berbera is to get a new edible oil terminal.
DP World, the Dubai-based firm that manages the port, announced that it would develop the terminal at the port in Somaliland.
The firm has already signed a long-term lease with Somaliland authorities on the terminal.
It announced that the terminal has an initial storage capacity of around 18,000 tons.
Further, the terminal would have little trouble servicing vessels with draughts measuring up to 16 meters.
Consequently, Berbera Port will be able to handle bulk imports.
