Authorities have disinfected the Port of Mogadishu as part of measures introduced to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
The move is part of the country’s measures designed to stop COVID-19 from entering the Horn of Africa nation via the sea.
Turkish officials are also helping authorities disinfect all goods entering the country via the Port of Mogadishu.
Currently, no confirmed case of COVID-19 has been attributed to the port but authorities are not resting on their laurels.
Officials at the port are cleaning goods and containers using supplies provided by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United States’ Food and Drugs Administration (FDA).
