President Bihi and Kenyan Delegation Meets to Discuss Improved Trade Ties

President Musa Bihi Abdi of Somaliland met with a Kenyan delegation in Hargeisa where they discussed the need for improved trade ties between the two countries.

Junet Mohamed, the National Assembly Minority Leader, led the delegation from Kenya.

The leaders discussed several issues that included the strengthening of diplomatic ties between their respective nations.

They also discussed trade and business opportunities that Somaliland has to offer to investors from neighboring nations.

In the recent past, Somaliland has attracted huge foreign investments.

Somaliland has been on a campaign to initiate diplomatic ties with regional leaders and governments as it seeks support for its pursuit for international recognition.

President Bihi’s administration has demonstrated an unquenchable thirst for recognition from the African Union and the United Nations.

In 2019, Somaliland hosted a conference in Nairobi to woo investors from its East African neighbor.

The tour of Hargeisa by the Kenyan delegation is testament of the fruits of the efforts President Bihi has put in to make the country attractive to more investors.
