President Bihi Leaves Somaliland for an Official Visit to Djibouti

President Musa Bihi Abdi of Somaliland left the country early today to embark on an official visit to Djibouti.

During his tour, Bihi is scheduled to hold talks with President Ismail Omar Guelleh of Djibouti and President Mohamed Farmaajo of Somalia.

Bihi led a high-powered delegation consisting several cabinet ministers and top government officials in his administration.

President Bihi’s visit is courtesy of an invitation extended to him by President Guelleh who is equally interested in facilitating the resumption of dialogue between Somalia and Somaliland.

Among the top government officials in Bihi’s delegation is Suleiman Mohamud Aden, the Speaker of the Upper House of Parliament.

The Minister of Finance, Yasin Mohamud Faraton, has also joined him as have Sa’ad Ali Shire and Said Sulub Mohamed, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Finance respectively.

Others include Ms. Adna Aden, the Special Envoy of the Somaliland-Somalia Talks, and Mohamud Hasan Sa’ad Sajin, the Minister of Trade.

The governments of Ethiopia, Djibouti, and United States have organized the meeting between Bihi and Farmaajo.
