President Muse Bihi Abdi visited the Abdilahi Askar Military Academy to monitor the training that prospective members of the security forces receive.
Several members of the cabinet accompanied President Bihi together with top Armed Forces chiefs.
While visiting the facility, President Bihi also took time to inspect a guard of honor.
Brig. Gen. Mohamed Adan Saqadhi, the country’s Police Commissioner, underlined his commitment and that of his officers to rebuilding and reforming the police force.
Brig. Gen. Saqadhi said, “Police reforms are necessary if we are to produce a new batch of cadet officers who are not only well-educated but also highly trained and properly disciplined.”
Furthermore, Saqadhi promised to create a strong Special Protection Unit that will work closely with the country’s military.
