President Said Abdullahi Deni led Puntland’s 22nd anniversary celebrations. Puntland, one of Somalia’s semiautonomous states, was created on August 1, 1998.
On Saturday, Deni led other leaders and the people of Puntland in celebrating over two decades of existence.
Deni expressed his gratitude to the leaders and people of Puntland for the peace, security, and development the state has enjoyed in over two decades.
He reminded the people of Puntland that the region still had a long way to go to create the prosperity that it craves.
The celebrations were held at Garowe, which is Puntland’s administrative capital.
