Reports from the Office of the President in Mogadishu indicate that President Mohamed Farmaajo has accepted the decision by Somalia Parliament to oust Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire.
Earlier today, parliament voted to pass a motion of no confidence against Prime Minister Khaire. Reports indicate that 170 Members of Parliament (MPs) voted in favor of the motion with only eight voting against it.
Consequently, Farmaajo has promised to start the process of identifying and appointing a new Prime Minister to replace Khaire, who is still in Dhusamareb together with the President in a meeting with regional leaders discussing the country’s preparedness for the upcoming polls.
