President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo addressed Somalis after the Ministry of Health confirmed the first Coronavirus case in the country.
In his address to the nation, President Farmaajo said that his government remains committed to safeguarding the health and wellbeing of all Somalis.
COVID-19 has spread its tentacles worldwide. It has now entered Somali through one of the people quarantined after traveling back to the country from China.
President Farmaajo said Somalis must work together with the government to implement the measures necessary for the preventing COVID-19 from spreading any further in the country.
The president said the Ministry of Health has confirmed only one case thus far. He reminded the country that the disease has also spread into other Horn of Africa nations.
