President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo attended Janaza prayers held in honor of the recently departed Hassan Abshir Farah, Somalia’s former Prime Minister.
Farah died in an Ankara hospital in Turkey while undergoing treatment for a medical issue.
His body arrived back in Mogadishu early on Thursday. Farah is expected to be transported to Garowe, his homeland, where he will be laid to rest.
Several regional leaders are already in Garowe awaiting the arrival of his body for burial.
Hassan Ali Khaire, the current Prime Minister of Somalia, has also traveled to Garowe for Farah’s funeral.
