President Irro and Party Leaders Discuss Key Somaliland Priorities

Hargeisa, Somaliland – President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi Irro convened a pivotal meeting at the Presidential Palace on Thursday, bringing together the leaders of Somaliland’s three national political parties — Waddani, Kulmiye, and Kaah — for high-level consultations on the nation’s most pressing issues.

The closed-door session centered on Somaliland’s security, economic outlook, foreign policy, and the upcoming elections. President Irro briefed the party heads on his government’s current strategies and shared insights from his recent diplomatic visits to the United Arab Emirates and Ethiopia, which he described as crucial in deepening regional cooperation, investment ties, and security collaboration within the Horn of Africa.

Reaffirming his government’s commitment to democratic governance, the President emphasized that peace, stability, and unity remain the guiding principles of Somaliland’s progress. He also updated the party leaders on the Ceerigaabo peace initiative, noting encouraging signs of reconciliation and dialogue among local communities.

In response, representatives of all three parties praised the President’s inclusive approach, pledging continued collaboration to safeguard Somaliland’s hard-won peace and democratic traditions. The meeting marked a renewed spirit of cooperation and consensus at a time of significant national transition.
