President Irro Hails Ongoing Pacification Efforts in Sanaag

The President of Somaliland, His Excellency Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi Irro, has commended the ongoing efforts to stabilize the eastern region of Sanaag.

This progress follows the integration of local militia forces into the national armed forces, a significant step toward consolidating peace and security in the region.

President Irro highlighted the coordinated efforts led by his deputy, Vice President Mohamed Abdi Ali, along with senior state and military officials who have been stationed in Erigavo for the past two weeks.

Their presence and leadership have been instrumental in advancing the pacification process and fostering collaboration between local communities and the national government.

During the 11th session of the Council of Ministers of the WADDANI administration, which President Irro chaired on Wednesday evening, he expressed his appreciation for these efforts.

The session also addressed critical issues such as the challenges faced by displaced persons, ongoing humanitarian initiatives, and strategies to mitigate the potential impacts of an anticipated drought.

The discussions underscored the administration’s commitment to addressing both immediate and long-term challenges, ensuring the well-being of Somaliland’s citizens, and strengthening the nation’s resilience in the face of environmental and socio-political challenges.
