President Irro Vows to Enhance Somaliland’s National Healthcare System

President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi Irro addressed stakeholders and participants at the National Health Policy Conference in Hargeisa on March 26, 2025.

In his speech, President Irro underscored his administration’s commitment to enhancing Somaliland’s healthcare system.

He emphasized that access to healthcare is a fundamental right for all citizens and outlined plans to expand quality medical services, modernize primary healthcare facilities across regions and districts, and increase investment in basic health services.

The President called upon government institutions, healthcare professionals, and community leaders to collaborate in addressing healthcare challenges to achieve sustainable development in the sector.

This initiative aligns with President Irro’s broader agenda to improve public services and infrastructure in Somaliland.

For instance, in February 2025, he launched the Baligubadle-Hargeisa Road project to strengthen the nation’s infrastructure and economy.

Additionally, in January 2025, he chaired his seventh cabinet meeting, focusing on key national issues, including economic growth and revenue management.

These efforts reflect the administration’s dedication to fostering development and improving the well-being of Somaliland’s citizens across various sectors.
