President Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed Lafta-Gareen of the semiautonomous Southwest State comforted victims of the deadly terror attack in Galkayo.
On the afternoon of Friday, December 18, suspected Al-Shabaab fighters blew themselves up and killed several people at a venue where Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble was expected.
The Prime Minister was to attend a rally held to welcome him at a stadium in Galkayo.
Instead, he was forced to cancel the event after senior Somali National Army (SNA) officers died in the explosion.
Later in the evening, Lafta-Gareen consoled the families of those who died in the explosion.
He prayed for the dead and those who were injured that Allah would be merciful to the former while healing the latter.
