President Madobe Blames FGS for Increased Political Division in Somalia

President Ahmed Mohamed Madobe of Somalia’s state of Jubbaland has blamed the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) for the increased political divisions in the country.

According to President Madobe, the government under the leadership of President Mohamed Farmaajo continues to stoke political division while destabilizing Federal Member States (FMS).

Madobe made this known during the 60th Anniversary of the country’s Independence.

He also indicated that the country’s decades of conflicts have created an environment for delayed progress and disunity to thrive.

Consequently, he said that militia groups such as Al-Shabaab have benefited tremendously from all the disunity and chaos in the country.

Madobe also hit out at the National Independent Electoral Commission (NIEC) for delaying elections thus extending Farmaajo’s term in office to next year.
