BAIDOA — The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, held a high-level strategic briefing with the Chairman of the District Administration and Mayor of Baidoa, Abdullahi Ali Watiin, to comprehensively evaluate the city’s developmental progress and ongoing municipal challenges.

Evaluating Urban Development and Security
During the closed-door engagement, the President received a detailed situational report directly from the municipal leadership regarding the overall state of Baidoa. The comprehensive briefing covered recent urban security enhancement operations, tangible improvements in local social services, and critical logistical challenges that require synchronized, immediate action between federal and state institutions.
President Hassan Sheikh commended the Baidoa district administration for its dedicated work during a highly sensitive period. He emphasized that strengthening robust cooperation across all tiers of government is absolutely essential to ensuring sustainable regional security, tangible economic development, and the efficient delivery of high-quality public services.
To address immediate community needs, the President formally directed relevant federal and state institutions to expedite the rollout of vital urban development projects and humanitarian relief programs. This push for community resilience aligns perfectly with recent federal directives prioritizing emergency relief and inter-agency coordination to mitigate the ongoing regional climate crisis.
