Mogadishu – Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud met with international partners in Mogadishu on Monday to discuss key national priorities, including elections and security, according to sources close to the presidency.

The high-level talks signal growing momentum as Somalia prepares for the 2026 elections, with international stakeholders expressing continued interest in supporting a stable and inclusive electoral process.

Earlier the same day, diplomats also held a separate meeting with opposition leaders, underscoring the broad consensus that both political stability and security reforms are central to Somalia’s path forward.
