President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud chaired an emergency cabinet meeting to discuss the impact of the El Nino rains and floods around the country.
The President chaired the meeting at Villa Somalia on Monday.
Lately, the country has endured a torrid time through rains and floods caused by the El Nino phenomenon expected to last the next two months.
Residents in various parts of Somalia face a massive humanitarian crisis because of the floods and rains.
Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre, who was at the meeting, briefed President Mohamud on the situation facing Somalis in the country.
He told the President about measures by the government to mitigate the effects of the destructive floods.
