President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of Somalia is currently chairing the National Consultative Council (NCC) meeting that is underway in Mogadishu.
The NCC meeting kicked off on Thursday, October 27.
The meeting is between the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) and the Federal Member States (FMS).
Leaders from all the regional states in the country have already arrived in Mogadishu for the meeting.
Many of them arrived earlier on Wednesday while the rest landed a day later.
Participants at the meeting are likely to prioritize discussions on the prevailing humanitarian situation in the East African nation.
Ongoing security operations against terrorists will feature in the discussions prominently too.
