President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud met with Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble to discuss several issues affecting the country.
In their meeting, the two leaders discussed the importance of finalizing the constitution drafting process.
Somalia has been discussing the issue for years now.
Currently, the East African nation operates with a Provisional Constitution.
President Mohamud and Prime Minister Roble discussed this and other issues when they met at Villa Somalia on Saturday, June 11.
Regional state leaders were also present at the meeting.
The President had earlier held a meeting with all the five regional state leaders.
Those at the meeting included President Ahmed Islam Madobe (Jubbaland), President Said Abdullahi Deni (Puntland), and President Ali Gudlawe (HirShabelle).
President Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen (Southwest) and President Ahmed Abdi Karie Qoorqoor (Galmudug) were present too.
Other issues they discussed were federalism and the judiciary.
Security and the ongoing drought featured prominently in their discussions as well.
The meeting was the first of its kind between all these leaders since President Mohamud’s inauguration on Thursday, June 9.
