President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud discussed Somalia’s bid to join the East African Community (EAC) with his Kenyan counterpart.
President Mohamud met with President William Ruto on the sidelines of the ongoing African Union (AU) Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
They met on Sunday.
They also discussed bolstering bilateral ties and partnerships in security and trade between their respective nations.
Somalia bid to join EAC last year.
The regional economic bloc has already agreed to fast-track the process to allow Somalia to be the newest EAC member as soon as possible.
