President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has listed the priorities that his government intends to pursue in Somalia in 2023.
The President listed the priorities while addressing the public on January 1.
Some of the priorities include implementing the national security policy that the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) agreed upon with the Federal Member States (FMS).
FGS and FMS developed a security policy during the recent National Consultative Council (NCC).
He also reminded the country that Somalia will take over security responsibilities from the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) by the end of December 2023.
President Mohamud added that his government would complete a debt relief program this year.
