President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has returned to Somalia from his visit to the Arusha offices of the East African Community (EAC).
The President had traveled to Arusha, Tanzania to attend the high-level meeting of EAC member states.
He took the opportunity to appeal to EAC to allow Somalia to join the regional economic bloc.
The EAC Secretariat promised to fast-track Somalia’s application and provide a comprehensive report before the end of the year.
President Mohamud received a warm welcome when his plane touched down at the Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu on Saturday, July 23.
