President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud said that Somalia must have a free market.
The Somali President said this when he held discussions with business leaders at Villa Somalia on Sunday, August 7.
President Mohamud and the business leaders discussed various issues.
Regional business cooperation and development of investments around the country featured prominently in their discussions on Sunday evening.
The President commended the business leaders for their resilience in the face of numerous challenges that the country continues to face.
He also highlighted their business acumen and innovativeness.
President Mohamud promised them that his government would make it easier for the business community to work and make investments around the country.
“Somalia must have a free market and an open economy too,” said President Mohamud.
The President spoke even as he plans to lead a delegation to attend the Somali-Uganda Business Summit in Kampala from August 9-10.
