Mogadishu, Somalia – President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Wednesday received a delegation of FIFA officials and African football icons Samuel Eto’o, Jay-Jay Okocha, and Emmanuel Adebayor at the Presidential Palace, Villa Somalia.
The President praised the visit as a significant moment for Somalia’s sports sector, emphasizing football’s role in promoting unity, youth empowerment, and national development.
“Football has the power to inspire our young people and strengthen our social fabric,” he stated, expressing gratitude for FIFA’s support and the legends’ presence in Mogadishu.
