President Mustafe Omer of the Somali Regional State of Ethiopia has handed over newly renovated houses to 31 families.
The President handed over the houses to the families in Jigjiga on Wednesday.
He was in the company of Tagesse Chafo, the Speaker of the Federal Parliament, and other government officials during the handing-over ceremony.
Beneficiaries were mostly the poor and neglected families in the state capital.
President Omer spoke with the Jigjiga residents and assured them that his government would carry out the second phase of the project.
In the next phase, the government would deliver houses to 50 families.
