Galmudug State President Ahmed Abdi Kariye Qoorqoor has led a delegation comprising top government officers on an official visit to Turkey.
President Qoorqoor and his team arrived at Turkey on Thursday.
They were received at the airport by Somalia’s Ambassador to Turkey, Jama Abdullahi Aideed.
Others who were present at the airport to welcome Qoorqoor included the Somalia’s Deputy Ambassador to Turkey and Sheikh Mohamed, the Chairman of Somali Community in Turkey.
Several Somali businesspersons joined their colleagues in welcoming President Qoorqoor and the delegation from Somalia.
While in Turkey, Qoorqoor is expected to hold discussions with officials at the Somali Embassy in Ankara, representatives of the Somali community, and students from Somalia.
Qoorqoor’s itinerary includes visiting Somalis living, working, and studying in various cities around Turkey.
During the meetings, he will be updating Somalis on the general situation back at home but with a special emphasis on Galmudug.
