President Waare Replaces Two Cabinet Ministers He Sacked

President Mohamed Waare of HirShabelle has replaced the two members of the cabinet he recently sacked.

Waare made the changes ahead of the expected national elections later in the year.

In announcing the new changes, Waare confirmed that Shueyb Mumin takes over from Salah Hassan as the Minister of Water.

He has also appointed Yusuf Yalahow as the state’s new Minister of Agriculture.

Last week, the President promised to make new changes to improve service delivery in one of Somalia’s semiautonomous regions.

Waare’s administration is expected to be in office until later this year when its term ends. Voters would then get an opportunity to elect their preferred leaders.

HirShabelle was created in November 2016 thus joining the other Federal Member States (FMS) as the fifth member.
