The Presidential Elections Committee held a meeting with top security and military chiefs in Mogadishu.
The committee’s meeting with the security chiefs took place on Saturday, May 7.
Sources revealed that the purpose of the meeting was to discuss security in the capital ahead of the May 15 presidential elections.
Legislators from the House of the People (Lower House) and Senate (Upper House) are poised to elect the country’s new president eight days from today.
The security chiefs assured the 17-member committee of safe and secure surroundings leading to the polls.
