Prime Minister Assesses Aden Abdulle International Airport Operations

MOGADISHU — The Prime Minister of Somalia, H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, carried out an inspection tour of Aden Adde International Airport in the capital to evaluate service quality provided to citizens and the general performance of airport institutions.

The Prime Minister conducted a comprehensive inspection of key airport operations, including healthcare facilities, immigration protocols, and security arrangements. He emphasized the urgent need to elevate service delivery to meet global standards of efficiency and punctuality.

During the visit, the Prime Minister also engaged directly with passengers. Notably, he ordered immediate refunds for travelers who had been charged $30 for yellow fever cards, declaring that these essential health services must be provided free of charge.

Direct Engagement

Prime Minister Hamza directly engaged with passengers utilizing airport services, gathering feedback and concerns. He directed airport management and personnel to assume increased accountability, focus on passenger convenience, and provide special attention to travelers in need of particular assistance.

“The government will not tolerate difficulties faced by Somalis in accessing state services. Deficiencies will be addressed firmly, with responsible parties held accountable,” the Prime Minister warned.

Recognizing the airport’s critical role as Somalia’s primary gateway, the Prime Minister emphasized that Aden Adde should embody the country’s progress and standing.

He called upon all entities functioning at the airport to intensify their dedication to serving the public, protecting the facility’s image, and rectifying deficiencies without delay.

The inspection demonstrates the administration’s dedication to refining public services and promoting transparency for all travelers coming to and departing from Mogadishu.
