Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre has expressed gratitude to the Somali parliament for approving his cabinet.
The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude on Sunday a few moments after the House of the People (Lower House) voted overwhelmingly to approve his cabinet.
Parliament voted 229 to 7 to endorse Prime Minister Barre’s cabinet of 77 members.
Only one legislator abstained from the vote, which took place on August 7.
Prime Minister Barre promised parliament and the entire country that his cabinet will prioritize security and address the humanitarian crisis occasioned by the ongoing drought.
