Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre held a dinner for the victorious national Under-17 (U17) football team of Somalia.
The Prime Minister hosted the dinner in honor of the boys who emerged victorious in the just-ended Council of East and Central Africa Football Association (CECAFA) U17 team.
Somalia U17 team won the CECAFA tournament after beating South Sudan 3-1 on October 15 in Ethiopia.
They created history by becoming the first national football team to not only reach the finals of a major championship but also to win it.
Moreover, the Somalia U17 team has already qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) U17 championships that take place in Algeria next year.
Prime Minister Mohamud commanded them for the excellent piece of record that they just created and for bringing great honor to the country.
