Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble held a meeting with several traditional leaders in Puntland on December 13.
Roble’s meeting with the leaders is critical because of the role they play in culture preservation.
On Friday, December 11, he already visited two traditional leaders in their residences in Garowe to recognize the important contribution they made in the region’s peace.
Prime Minister Roble also commended the elders for their contribution in helping the Federal Government of Somalia to maintain peace in the region.
His meetings and discussions with the elders come during his tour of the semiautonomous region.
While in Puntland, Roble is scheduled to hold a series of meetings with regional leaders to talk about their views on the upcoming elections.
By meeting the elders, Roble hopes to familiarize himself with the issues affecting the hearts and minds of the locals.
