Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble avoided any mention of the maritime dispute between Kenya and Somalia in a meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The Prime Minister has been in Kenya since August 9 at the invitation of President Kenyatta.
On Tuesday, the two leaders met at State House, Mombasa.
Sources said that the leaders discussed strengthening of diplomatic ties, which were at their lowest in the last couple of years.
Somalia has taken Kenya to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) over a maritime dispute between the two nations.
Mogadishu refused to heed to Kenya’s calls to withdraw the case from the ICJ and settle the matter out of court.
Mohamed Ibrahim Moalimu, a Spokesperson for the Office of the Prime Minister, denied reports indicating that Roble and Kenyatta had discussed the troublesome maritime issue.
Instead, the two leaders discussed other issues that are important to the relations between their respective nations.
Some of these issues included security, trade, and visa requirements.
