Prime Minister Roble Discusses Possibility of Accelerating Electoral Process

Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble said that the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) is currently considering accelerating the electoral process.

Roble revealed this when he held a meeting with the President of HirShabelle, Ali Guudlawe Hussein in Mogadishu.

The Prime Minister’s meeting with Guudlawe was held on January 17.

On Sunday afternoon, Roble hosted the Guudlawe, who was elected President of HirShabelle in November 2020, in his office.

Apart from accelerating the electoral process, they also talked about security and development in HirShabelle.

Guudlawe has been in Mogadishu for the last few days for a series of meetings with senior officers in the federal and regional governments.

Security has been a huge problem in HirShabelle since Guudlawe won the elections.

Local residents have taken to the streets of HirShabelle to protest Guudlawe’s election citing influence and manipulation from President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo’s administration.
