Prime Minister Roble Travels to Kuwait over Sabah’s Death

Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble of the Federal Government of Somalia traveled to Kuwait on Monday October 5.

Roble is in the Middle East nation to condole with the leaders, government, and people of Kuwait over the death of Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.

Sabah has been the Emir of Kuwait from 2006 until his death last week in the United States.

He was also the Commander of the Kuwait Military Forces.

Immediately after his death was confirmed, reports from Kuwait indicated that Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmed, the half-brother of the 91-year old Sabah, would replace him as Emir.

Upon arrival, Prime Minister Roble met with Emir Nawaf to offer his condolences and those of the people of Somalia on the death of such a remarkably gifted leader and diplomat.

The late Sabah had often intervened in Somalia’s affairs with his diplomatic touch.
