Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has expressed sadness over the clashes between government forces and opposition’s security guards in Mogadishu.
There were clashes on February 18 at the Daljirka Dahson Monument between government forces and guards protecting opposition politicians.
Some sources claim that there were casualties.
However, these claims are yet to be independently verified.
On Friday, the clashes continued when gunfights were heard around the city at the site of the planned rally in Mogadishu.
Roble urged Somalis not to accept any war in the country.
He also encouraged them not to accept the destruction of their homes and property.
Prime Minister Roble assured the country that the government would ensure that parliamentary and presidential elections are held soon.
