Protests have rocked different parts of the semiautonomous state of Puntland over the shortage of Somalia Shillings.
On December 26, protestors took to the streets of Garowe, the administrative capital of the state to voice their displeasure at the current situation.
Protestors lit bonfires on the streets while barricading roads along the city.
For the most part of Sunday, transport to and from the city was paralyzed as the roads remained deserted for long hours.
Currently, it is not clear who organized the protests.
