DHUSAMAREB — A high-level federal delegation led by the Minister of Public Works, Reconstruction and Housing, Hon. MP Ayub Ismail Yusuf, has officially arrived in Dhusamareb, the administrative capital of Galmudug State.
The ministerial team, comprising senior ministry officials, project managers, technical experts, and engineering advisors, was warmly received by top regional authorities. The welcoming delegation included Galmudug’s Ministers of Public Works, Security, National Planning, the State Minister for Internal Affairs, and other high-ranking state officials.
Connecting Dhusamareb and Adado
During his visit, Minister Ayub Ismail Yusuf will lay the foundation stone for the construction of a vital paved road connecting Dhusamareb and the neighboring district of Adado (Cadaado).
This major infrastructure initiative falls under the Road Infrastructure Programme (RIP), which is managed directly by the Federal Ministry of Public Works, Reconstruction and Housing. The project is being made possible through joint financial backing from the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the European Union (EU).
Boosting Economic Integration
The Ministry of Public Works, which is responsible for establishing and executing national policies on construction and infrastructure development, highlighted the transformative potential of this corridor. Officials noted that the project will significantly contribute to advancing national development, reinforcing the country’s economic infrastructure, and improving rapid access to essential social services for rural communities.
Once completed, this modern roadway will dramatically enhance connectivity and economic integration within central Somalia, cementing Dhusamareb’s status as a growing, accessible commercial hub.
