Garowe, Puntland – Somalia’s Puntland Acting President and Vice President, Ilyas Osman Lugatoor, officially inaugurated the 2024-2025 Puntland Certificate Examination on Saturday, marking a significant milestone for thousands of students across the region.
The inauguration ceremony, held in the capital Garowe, was attended by top education officials, teachers, and students. The examination is a key academic step for students completing middle and high school levels and is seen as a gateway to further education and professional development.
A total of 23,768 students—from both middle and high schools—are participating in this year’s exam across various districts in Puntland. The event underscores the regional government’s commitment to strengthening the education sector and supporting youth development.
In his address, Lugatoor praised the efforts of students and educators alike, stating, “This examination is not just a test of knowledge, but a reflection of the aspirations and hard work of our young generation. Puntland remains committed to ensuring access to quality education for all.”
